WikiFAQ
An interactive, structured document editor
1.1
What is this all about?

You're looking at a conceptual prototype for WikiFAQ; a wiki designed specifically for structured documents.
It can be used for collaborative maintenance of FAQ's, business plans, and any other kind of document that should be formatted into sections. You add or edit topics and subtopics, using a fully WYSIWYG editor.

The feature wishlist includes:

  • show new sections as they are added or changed by other users, live!
  • drag-and-drop reordering of sections
  • dynamic table of contents
  • list edits and view previous versions
  • break apart large FAQs into several pages
  • support for uploaded images
  • predefined templates for sections (e.g. text in columns, image in corner, tables, etc) and styles for text
  • "plain text" viewing option, and the ability to create plain-text-only FAQs
  • print button for section or entire faq
  • publish to normal html pages for search engine visibility (manual or automatic)
  • support for user logons, edit permissions, and private faqs
  • ability to lock sections
  • smart linking to Google Groups / newsgroup threads
  • correct numbering bugs, delete subtopics when a section is deleted

Neat, let's get started!
You can add entries using the Edit link that shows up on the right whenever you hover your mouse over a topic. Presently, there is no back-end implemented to save your changes between sessions (so once you navigate away from this page, any changes made will be lost).
